"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.
You surround yourself with people who make you laugh.
Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't.
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

Ett viktigt möte*** An Important Meeting

I was asked to attend a meeting arranged by a section of the hospital that works towards a better quality, as well as to ensure the good quality of care we already have for cancer patients in Sweden.
It was a dialogue between patients, doctors and authorities.
I had a lot to say. Here is the link, in Swedish though...

Skrämselhicka*** Hiccups of fright

Plan A och plan B formas åter igen i huvudet.
Ja, nu fortsätter plan A gott folk. Mer information inom kort :-)

A few weeks ago when I had my 6 month visit at the Oncologist I got really frightened. A bit cocky I went there I'm afraid, thinking that I feel so good at the moment, better than I ever have actually- and that is despite remaining handicaps such as lymphedema in both arms and constant nerve pain in both my feet. I have gotten used to having great results on my blood tests every time (my blood count result has never been better in my life: I eat spinach and broccoli to the limit every day!).
My liver test results were higher than normal. Excuse me...what?! Hello...that could mean relapse and new tumors? Hold on, I am supposed to live, I feel great!!!! And here we go again with all the thoughts...
But thankfully I have the best Oncologist in the world. She calmly explained to me that I am one of few that received an extremely tough and long chemo treatment, with that the liver gets beaten really hard and it takes many years for it to recover. It can be enough to eat Tylenol on a regular basis (and I do to be able to walk without pain) and the liver's ability to handle even that small amount of poison is limited. It can be an explanation of high test results, not that the cancer itself has returned. Phiew!
Even so, to exclude the worst possible news, a liver x-ray and thorough examination was ordered. And I was back in the days of waiting for the actual x-ray date and final result answer. A Plan A and a Plan B was as always constructed in my mind. A- life continues as normal, B- I plan my funeral and final goodbyes. That is how my life is, I have learned to live in these parallel worlds and I've been extremely lucky to have had Plan A as the conqueror through every battle. This time as well! My liver is fine but tired. Goddamn, I got really frightened there for a while!
What now...? Well, dear friends, Plan A continues. More information to come. :-)
