"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.
You surround yourself with people who make you laugh.
Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't.
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

Flash Back

Mammografi.
Då satte panikångestattacken in.
-Ja just det, resultatet ja!! Det var hur bra som helst. Inga konstigheter!

Mammogram. Almost a year ago, to the day, since last time. Or, I should say, on Sunday it is exactly a year ago my right breast bled in the shower- the breast that made me see a doctor in the first place and that didn't have any tumors in it.
I thought it would be a piece of cake to check out my remaining (right) breast. After the mamogram I was asked to wait since they wanted to have an ultrasound done as well. That was it for me. Such a flash back to last year! I had a major panic attack, couldn't breath and started to cry. In my brain I had already began a new round of chemo and lost all my hair a second time. It was awful. They took such good care of me though and told me that that is a normal reaction to the first mammogram after a breast cancer "adventure" like mine. Is that good?
I am still not myself after that experience.I had made plans to meet up with Ingrid after the appointment. Thank God!
-Ah, yes, the result. It was good, really good. All was fine. I am of course extremely grateful that they are so thourough with the examinations. Today my brain just decided to trick me a bit...

Kontraster*** Contrasts

Vilken vecka, vilka kontraster.

What a week, what contrasts it has contained. One day you find yourself on rehab half way around the world and the next you are forced to face the brutal reality again. My week began with a visit to the Oncology Department. No lumps were found and the blood tests were good. It's odd that the Oncology Department has become a part of my every day life. I've gotten used to hold my breath every time my neck, chest, breast, scar and armpits are getting examined in the search for new devil lumps. I feel that it is just a matter of time before they find something, I guess it is a defense mechanism I have in case the worst scenario would occur. I discussed with my doctor the fact that my hands and feet are numb now and then as well as my brain function seems "low", not "connecting" as it used to. A major side effect of the Taxotere chemo is exactly that- Taxotere is a nerve poison. It might go away, or not.
I have managed to exercise with my PT and found that my body actually could handle a bit more of a push than before (at my cancer level that is. Baby steps). Great!
A well needed massage was put in the weekly schedule and tomorrow I have a mammogram of my right breast. I don't feel worried but I guess that something is up since I am awake and writing this in the middle of the night.
Other than that I struggle with Max's diabetes. Crap illness that fully control our lives. We haven't slept an entire night this week. It makes me so angry and I can't understand why Max had to get sick. I am truly pissed off actually!
As a contrast to all the written information above I must say that I love Christmas. The creative work around the house and the spirit of the upcoming holiday are keeping this family on it's toes.
